Cortina d'Ampezzo and surroundings: the region and the localities

Cortina d'Ampezzo (Ladin Anpezo, German Hayden and Venetian Anpèzso) is a famous Ladin town, situated at 1.224 m in the center of the Ampezzo valley, between the region Cadore and Val Pusteria.

The magnificent Dolomites, which include the mountains Tofane, Pomagagnòn, Cristallo, Faloria, Becco di Mezzodì, Cinque Torri, on 360° surround the residential center, which has acquired since the Olympics of 1956 the reputation of an exclusive and fashionable winter tourist resort.
The Municipality of Cortina is divided into 28 villages, which together have always been set in the Sestieri called Cortina, Alverà, Chiave, Cadin, Zuel and Azzon.
